Mr. Buchholz (Tom) attended Devry Institute and graduated with honors in May of 1983. Tom has his FLMI and ACS designations and has been active in the insurance industry for 31 years. Tom has worked with several well known software/administrative companies during his career. He has held positions of Programmer, Project Leader, Director of Systems Architecture, Production Support Manager, and Vice President of Systems to his present position of President/Owner of CFA Inc.

Some companies Tom has worked/consulted with include, Capsco Administrative Services, Inc, Policyholder Services Corp., Universal Systems Inc, Vanage Computer Systems Inc, (TPA/Service Bureau), Financial Information Technology Inc., Laspo, Inc., and now presently CFA, Inc. Through his tenures with the various companies he has established business partnerships with IBM, performed countless system conversions, involved with new product startups, production support roles, worked hand in hand with the distribution network to improve their ability to sell and conserve business, marketing, and defining systems architectural direction and technological solutions.

Tom has diligently focused on bringing all Life and Annuity support networks closer to the IT function. He has felt that in his past experiences he has witnessed many disconnects. His strategy is to utilize technology to improve efficiencies throughout the Life and Annuity support process. These include but are not limited to the Distribution Network, Home Office, and Policyholder. He believes all are equally vital to the success or failure from the initial vision of product, to product development on through the actual sale and conservation of the policy.

Tom has had the opportunity to work with many high profile application systems in the market today along with many in-house developed solutions. His technical experiences range from mainframe applications, Wang VS, RS6000/AIX, Netware client server applications, to now developing and targeting each the Windows 2003, 2008 servers and Linux platforms. Tom takes pride in his architecural disciplines for application development focusing on flexibility, low overhead, and high visibility methodologies. He seeks to grow CFA through the application of high profile technologies which best allow us to most cost effectively develop scalable solutions for our back office, agency support, and service bureau solutions.

Mrs. Hensley (Sandy) joined Laspo in 1983. She is a valuable asset to the CFA team. She holds an Associate degree from Longview Community College and a Bachelors of Science in Management/Accounting from Park University. Sandy has been involved in most all client relationships as a member of the Laspo and now CFA team over her tenure. Sandy was our main liaison for Forethought Life Insurance Company overseeing growth from the first application to more than 110,000 policies as well as managing policy issue up to 6,000 applications a month. Sandy has also worked with a number of our other clients including being the client account manager with Prudential Select Life Insurance Company. Sandy has also been involved with user training for various clients. Sandy earned F.L.M.I designation with distincition.

Mr. McFerren (Dave) received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Kansas State University in 1976, Bachelor of Science Degree in Math at Kansas State University in 1978, Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M in 1982, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986. He worked as an engineer on top-secret projects for the Strategic Defense Initiative with the Defense Department. His career as a programmer and computer support specialist began in 1990, and since then, he has gained expertise in Systems Administration for Solaris, AIX, Novell, Windows, and Linux. He has broad knowledge of networking, computer and security, and programs proficiently in most programming and scripting languages. Dave is a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

At CFA, Dave is involved in the administration of all networks and strategies. He is our Linux expert, and he provides valuable input into the strategy and planning of our application support systems development.

Mrs. Buchholz (Elaine) graduated with honors from Central Missouri State University in 1985 with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. She holds her real estate license in the state of Missouri and also has her Real Estate Broker's license. She has managed the offices of a reputable architecture firm in Kansas City supporting five separate individual companies ranging from architectural to property management activities. She served as Credit Analyst with a local bank and is presently Treasurer of the First United Methodist Church in Blue Springs, Missouri. She supports CFA's day-to-day office management functions, human resource, accounting, and all client invoicing and billing.

Mr. Buchholz (Carter) graduated with honors from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting and received his Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Information Systems from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 2013. He has served as a financial analyst at Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri, and has been a member of the CFA team since 2006. At CFA, Carter supports the day-to-day accounting, network and website maintenance, and systems development.
